RECALL - Front Rack on Cannondale Treadwell

Dear Dealer

We have received a few reports of issues with the bolts that attach the front rack installed on some Cannondale Treadwell bicycles that caused the rack to become detached from the bicycle and abruptly stop the front wheel, creating a fall and injury hazard.

We have elected to conduct a recall of the rack in order to provide riders with a more robust attachment system. We are working to finalize this improved attachment system and obtain required government approvals.

Please review the safety notice and instructions carefully on the link below. We are asking all registered Treadwell owners with this rack to remove it before riding (the bicycles are still rideable without the front rack), register the bike through the Cannondale Mobile app and contact you, their local dealer.

All dealers should immediately stop sale of the racks, either as a separate kit, or as original equipment on Treadwell EQ and Treadwell Neo EQ bicycles. After the rack has been removed and stored in a secure location in your shop, Treadwell EQ and Treadwell Neo EQ bicycles can be sold to consumers without the rack.

We will be in touch as soon as we have finalised the improved attachment system and obtained required government approvals to complete the recall and arrange for re-attachment of the rack.
