Our team of discerning testers (our own kids) have high standards — single-speed gearing to keep things simple in those first pedalling days and short-reach brake levers so even the smallest hands can engage the disc brakes when things get rowdy.

The Cub Scout 16” is stabiliser compatible for riders still mastering their balance, and like the rest of the range, it features a low standover height and adjustable saddle to keep the fit dialled as they grow. Off-road tyres deliver maximum grip, while lightweight wheels help reduce tired legs — everything they need for bigger smiles and longer rides.

Little hands and little feet call for components to suit. We’ve selected child-friendly components such as; Kids specific saddle and seat post and smaller kid-specific handlebars and grips as well as small platform pedals. As mountain bikers, we know having the all-important touchpoints dialled ensures comfort and confidence.

Proper fit and function of components are essential for kids bikes because adult components are not optimised for smaller people. To ensure that these bikes fit and function perfectly, we took the time to test and develop our own or work with our partners to select the best kids-specific components we could find on the market.

If you are just coming from a balance bike or have outgrown your 14”, the Cub Scout 16” is ready to take you on the next leg of the trail. Designed for future athletes aged 5yrs upwards (105-120cm), the 16” version of the Cub Scout takes its DNA from its legendary Scout brethren as a true mini mountain bike.
